How to report an error
Use the protected contact form. Identify the exact page and statement, explain the proposed correction, and provide a public source when possible. An optional email address lets the editorial team request clarification or report the outcome.
What happens next
A submission remains private pending moderation. It does not automatically alter or appear on the website. Editors compare the request with the cited material, the page’s existing sources, and stronger primary evidence when available. Complex or disputed claims may take longer to resolve than a typographical error.
How changes are handled
Clear typographical, formatting, and link errors may be corrected without a separate notice. A material factual correction should be reflected in the page’s text and review date; a future public revision log may record changes that alter the meaning of a dossier. Updating a case after a new official finding is an update, not necessarily a correction of the earlier record.
Disagreement is not always error
Historical sources may use different scopes or standards. When evidence supports more than one responsible interpretation, the archive may clarify the dispute rather than replace one statement with another. Unsupported accusations, private personal information, and demands to remove accurate public facts are not accepted as corrections.
Image and rights concerns
Include the image, page, claimed rights holder, and basis of the concern. We may temporarily remove an image while reviewing a credible notice. See image credits and usage policy for more information.
